John Plaza

 


John is the President and Founder / Interim CEO of Imperium Renewables and Seattle Biodiesel.

Prior to founding the company, John was a commercial airline pilot for over 20 years, most recently with Northwest Airlines. John became interested in alternative fuels in the late 1990s and explored many different technologies. After much R&D, convinced he had found a better way to make biodiesel, John founded Seattle Biodiesel in late 2003 as a means to produce clean, renewable fuel. An active member of the National Biodiesel Board, John is a recognized national expert on biodiesel and is a frequent contributor to biodiesel conferences, publications, and working groups both regionally and nationally.

 

 

Ira Ehrenpreis

 


Ira is a General Partner at Technology Partners.

Mr. Ehrenpreis has been a director since December 2005. Mr. Ehrenpreis is also a General Partner at Technology Partners, a venture capital firm. Mr. Ehrenpreis joined Technology Partners in 1996, where he leads the firm’s cleantech investment practice. Mr. Ehrenpreis currently serves on the board of the National Venture Capital Association and the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. Mr. Ehrenpreis has also served as Chairman of the Cleantech Venture Network Advisory Board, Chairman of the Clean-Tech Investors Summit and Chairman of the Energy Investors Forum. Mr. Ehrenpreis received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude) and a Masters in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of Stanford Law Review.

 

Nancy Floyd

 


Nancy is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Nth Power, and Chairman of Imperium Renewables, Inc.
 

Ms. Floyd has been a director since July 2005. Ms. Floyd is Founder and Managing Director of Nth Power, a venture capital firm. Ms. Floyd has led Nth Power’s investments in various entities, including Silicon Energy Corp and Northern Power Systems. In addition to serving on various company boards, Ms. Floyd sits on the boards of the Cleantech Venture Network, Center for Resource Solutions and American Council on Renewable Energy. Prior to founding Nth Power in 1997, Ms. Floyd built, managed and negotiated the sale of two high-growth energy and telecommunications companies. Ms. Floyd received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Franklin and Marshall College, where she currently serves as a Trustee, and her Masters degree in Political Science from Rutgers University. 
 
 

Robert Brust

 


Mr. Brust has more than 40 years of experience in operations and financial management. From 2000 until his retirement in 2007, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Eastman Kodak Company, a provider of photographic products and services. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Brust was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Unisys Corporation, a global information services company. For more than 30 years before that, he served in various management positions at General Electric Company. Mr. Brust currently serves as director of Applied Material, Inc., Delphi Corporation, and Covidien Ltd. and he holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.

 

 

Paul Unruh

 


Mr. Unruh served for more than 25 years at Bechtel Group, Inc., a global engineering and construction services corporation, in various management positions, including Treasurer, Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman, a position he held until his retirement in 2003. In addition, he served as President of Bechtel Enterprises, the company’s ownership, development, and finance arm, from 1997 until 2001. Before coming to Bechtel in 1978, Mr. Unruh practiced for seven years as a certified public accountant with what is now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC. He is currently a member of the board of directors of Move, Inc., a provider of real estate media and technology solutions, Symantec Corporation, a software company, and Heidrick and Struggles International, Inc., a provider of leadership consulting services.
